I’ve been receiving some questions about men’s skin care lately. I suppose that’s how it usually goes – we women introduce men to natural cosmetics, hauling all manner of pots and jars home as a subtle hint that they should be used.
There are of course some men out there with a structured skin care regime, but I would guess the majority of the masculine sex would be bamboozled if you plonked down more than two products in front of them.
Let us therefore begin this look into men’s skin care with two products that all men should own – and which, so the studies have shown, they will be hooked on.
The first is the micellar water by Absolution. A few pumps of the water on a cotton pad in the morning and evening will provide a gentle cleansing, hydrating, conditioning, and nourishing cocktail for the skin.
The water is full of hydrating aloe vera, pore-minimizing witch hazel and lemon balm water, as well as curry plant water to boost blood circulation in the skin. The product also contains brightening lemon peel extract, potassium to boost cell metabolism, as well as zinc to even the texture of the skin.
After the micellar water, it’s time to apply must-have number two: the Day Cycle cream by 66°33. This thin cream is super hydrating, protecting and soothing the skin, without leaving it oily tacky and matte. If the user of the products has been very neglectful with his skin care, this cream will smooth out his complexion within a couple of days, leaving the guy well and truly hooked.
The cream’s ingredients include moisture-binding hyaluronic acid, antioxidant rich fig extract and blueberry seed oil; brown algae renews the skin and strengthens the hydrolipidic film, thyme cleanses the skin, summer lilac evens out the complexion, with sea kale stimulating collagen production.
Although this is a day cream, I would recommend it for nighttime, as well – unless the man in question wants to get a separate night cream (I wouldn’t be surprised; these products take skin care to a whole other level).
There isn’t a man out there who can’t fit these two products into his bathroom, or his skin care routine.
