Oil-cleansing is one of the best skin care methods that is suitable for all skin types. Lately, I\u2019ve been talking a lot about switching to a more gentle cleanser, regardless of skin type. For some strange reason, we seem to have got it into our heads that scrubbing off our hydrolipidic film \u2013 a layer of oil which is central to healthy skin \u2013 is the proper way of washing our faces. The oilier the skin, the harsher the cleansers used to scrub clean it, but since launching the Personal Beauty Guide<\/a>, I\u2019ve found that people with dry skin are doing the same thing, all the while seeking advice on how to combat that dryness.<\/p>\n

So, here\u2019s a golden skin care tip for you all: switch to something more gentle, and try the oil-cleansing method.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The oil seeps into the pores and dissolves the oil sitting on the skin, making it a perfect cleansing method for oily and porous skin, as well. Oil will also dissolve thick layers of foundation, and waterproof mascara.<\/p>\n

\"DSC_0032\"<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n

Method:<\/strong> apply a few pumps of oil cleanser onto dry skin, and massage it into your face, neck, and your eyes if you\u2019re wearing makeup, using circular motions (you can also put a few pumps of oil onto a cotton pad and use that to wipe off your eye makeup). Rinse the oil off with water and wipe your face and neck with toner. Oil-cleansers usually contain emulsifiers which make them easy to rinse off with water. If you have oily and porous skin, you can boost the method by wiping off the oil with a muslin cloth or face towel dipped in hot water.<\/p>\n

And since we\u2019ve been discussing more affordable products lately, today\u2019s post will be a Save-or-Splurge recommendation post, with only the best of natural cosmetics featured in both categories.<\/p>\n

Splurge<\/strong><\/em>: <\/em>Tata Harper Nourishing Oil Cleanser<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

This is the best, most wonderful, and utterly beautiful oil-cleanser I\u2019ve ever tried. With all of the products made in the company\u2019s own factory, and many of its ingredients grown on its own farm, Tata Harper represents luxurious, effective, and extremely high-quality cosmetics.<\/p>\n

The brand\u2019s oil-cleanser is wonderfully gentle and aromatherapeutic. With a rose-hip oil base, the oil is full of beta-carotene, lycopene, omega 3 fatty-acids, as well as vitamins A, C, and E. In addition to rose-hip, the product also contains jojoba, apricot kernel, olive, argan, sacha inchi, and camellia oil \u2013 which keep the skin soft and supple, and protect it from dryness.<\/p>\n

In addition to soothing and hydrating the skin, alfalfa extract, marigold, comfrey, borage, meadowsweet, and black elder flower extracts also prevent infection and irritation. The cleanser is ideal for atopic, ageing, and dull skin, and is especially helpful for those stuck in a dry climate (all of us north-dwelling people, in other words).<\/p>\n

\"DSC_0047\"<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n

Save: <\/strong>Juice Beauty Stem Cellular Cleansing Oil<\/a><\/p>\n

Juice Beauty\u2019s Stem Cellular Oil packs a punch, too. The lower price is reflected in the packaging as well as the ingredients list, and while it might also lack some of the sumptuousness of the Tata Harper cleanser, I found no fault with its washing power or its general effectiveness.<\/p>\n

The cleanser contains sunflower oil and reseveratrol-rich grape seed oil, which keep the skin feeling soft and supple, as well as antioxidant-rich stem cells from organic apples, lemons, and grapes. Apple and grape juice contain mild, natural fruit acids that brighten the skin enzymatically. The product also contains a healthy dose of vitamins C and E, which are known to be potent antioxidants. Balancing and cleansing essential may chang and ho wood oils give the cleanser its mild scent.<\/p>\n

This cleansing oil is suitable for all skin types, including blemished and clogged skin.<\/p>\n
