Into The Gloss´ The Top Shelf might just be the most inspiring, lovely and interesting post series in the whole universe´s beauty blogs and sites. One of my favorite pass times is to browse through pics of people´s vanity´s and see the same favorites as I have on my own shelves. I also love the style of photo´s in the series, and all together the visual style of Into The Gloss which is not powdery, pretty cotton wool, but original and cool.

In my previous home I had a traditional vanity, but I never felt inspired to post photos of it in my blog. In my new home the bathroom has a special feel to it, open glass shelves where the beautiful cosmetics jars and bottles get to parade on. My friend Eeva said last Saturday after our sauna session ( I begun a new tradition in my new home, Katja´s Saturday Spa, since our house has a beautiful sauna ) that my bathroom is a dream come true Top Shelf.

Let´s take a closer look at my top shelf:

First row is cleansers : my all time favorite  May Lindstrom Honey Mud and the remainders of Tata Harper Purifying Cleanser, another lovely cleanser that feels amazing on the skin with it´s perfect texture and active raw ingredients that tingle on your skin. The toner row begins with May´s Jasmine Garden and behind it I have the Korean natural cosmetics brand Whamisa´s toner and the U.S. brand Indie Leen Q10 Toner. The two latter are in testing but for now have not made me cloud 9 over them.

For deep cleansing I use Esse chocolate exfoliator, Microderm exfoliator and May´s Clean Dirt. From the eye contour area products my current favorites are Kahina´s Prickly Pear Rollerball, Neal’s Yard Remedies White Tea Toning Eye Gel (a saviour for dark circles and puffy eyes) and Tata´s eye contour cream with diamond dust.

The serum row begins with Kypris Antioxidant Dew, which is an absolutely amazing product and behind it I have Moonlight Catalyst which I use in the evenings. The oils are heavily represented in my vanity because I regard them to be the cornerstone of good skin care, oils are the number one product to bring important nutrients to the skin, and I absolutely adore a great skin oil. First up I have Kypris 1000 Roses and Healing Bouquet, Absolution´s The Addiction and behind it I have Dr. Alkaitis´ Ageless Elixir, Kahina Serum and Max & Me´s I am the Light (you´ll be hearing more of this brand shortly). In the balm row I naturally have Neal’s Yard Remedies classic Wild Rose Beauty Balm, last years awarded beauty balm Mahalo´s Rare Indigo and Mahalo Balm.

For moisturisers at the moment I´m using Tata´s diamond cream and Clarifying Moisturizer and Dr. Alkaitis day cream , behind that you can find Neal’s Yard´s Calendula Cream. I use that one for occasional skin irritations, mainly while traveling. Last products on my lower shelf are Henné rose lip scrub and Kahina Fez balm for hands and body. And of course Flumine´s lovely ceramic spatulas.

Max & Me´s Sweet Serenity mask/cleanser begin my top shelf, behind that I have Whamisa´s sheet mask which are in line to be tried out. The peels I have currently in rotation are Supermood´s Youth Glo Luxury Peel and behind that I have Pai´s Kukui & Jojoba peel. I have a specific mask for any given skin issue I might come across: May´s Problem Solver, Mahalo´s detox Pele Mask, last year´s best mask Mahalo´s The Petal, Pai´s Copaiba Deep Cleanse AHA Mask, Nuori´s new moisturising mask, behind it I have Tata´s moisturising mask and her mask tiro flower jelly mask, honey spiked version of the same mask and the purifying mask. Hmm, yesterday at a meeting I got complimented of my glowing skin again, maybe it´s thanks to my mask collection.

Half of the top shelf is dedicated to body care products. The beautiful Kypris body oil and Max & Me´s Circle of Protection, it´s the safe haven of body oils. Mahalo´s Vacation Glow is waiting to go on vacation and behind it I have Dr. Hauscka creamy Moor & Lavender body oil. The perfumes I use are Laboratorio Olfattivo Noblige (does not qualify within natural cosmetics criteria) and Neal’s Yard Frankincense perfume. In the last row I have Organic Shop strawberry body milk and Neal’s Yard Orange & Geranium Body Balm.

On the highest shelf I have the equipment: Flumine ceramic mask bowls which are a must have for mixing all powdery masks (if you don´t yet have a Flumine spatel and bowl you can order them at  Proloque web shop), May´s mask bowl, three different mask brushes and the worlds most beautiful ceramic neti pot. I have several times pondered upon the thought of how has no one before made a beautiful version of the awful plastic neti pot. Works super good with dispensing John Masters Herbal Cider!
